Not all heroes wear capes…

Believe in the Power of Dreams & Inspire Hope

The Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge and our Dream Rider team prove that “Not all heroes wear capes… Some ride bikes.”

This year, The Reach For A Dream Foundation celebrates 30 years of making dreams come true for children fighting a life-threatening illness, inspiring hope in those most in need. While wishing and hoping makes you a dreamer, acting and doing makes you someone who turns dreams into a reality. Reach For A Dream reaches approximately 30,000 children per year through dream fulfilment and our National Projects.

One of our biggest fundraisers is the Telkom 94.7 Cycle Challenge where our group of dedicated Dream Riders ride for hope. This year is the 12th year that the Dream Riders will be at the Telkom 94.7 Cycle Challenge. With a whole new kit and in celebration of making 30 years of dreams come true, our goal is to have 600 riders and raise R1,500,000 to fulfil the dreams of children suffering from life-threatening illnesses across the country.

Every day we meet life-threatened children who experience the unthinkable. These special children are fighting enormous, unimaginable battles to survive. Not only are these children burdened with their illness, but their families are embroiled in the pain and suffering that comes with having a life-threaten child. Despite this reality. Every day we are astonished by the impact that a dream has on a child who may well have stopped believing in recovery. In many cases, almost miraculously, these children find the inner strength to fight their illness and pain, and focus on the magic of childhood and getting well.

To join the Dream Riders: Your R1 800 gets you Dream Rider registration, charity start time, branded team kit, goodie bag, and full hospitality after the race. All proceeds go 100% to dream fulfilment. Please sign up on the Cycle Challenge site as well as www.dreamriders.co.za. Optimism is the belief that things are going to get better. Hope is the belief that we can make things better. In the face of often incredible suffering, it takes courage to hope. When the chips are down, and when we need a powerful shot of motivation to help us find new ways to reach our goal and push us forward towards its achievement, there is no substitute for hope.
